The Spectrum Connection

The Spectrum Connection is a group of young adults with Asperger Syndrome/HFA, aged 18-28, who get together monthly for a social outing. The number of participants varies but averages 8-10 people. Activities are chosen and sometimes organized by group members and have involved: bowling, supper out, beach outings, a pool party, mini-putt, go-carting, board game nights, and trips to Wasaga Beach, Canada’s Wonderland and Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto. Members often get together for additional social opportunities between outings.

Integrated Autism Consulting is available to support and facilitate but all individuals must be able to attend the event independently.

Check back regularly for the next exciting outing!

 A social club membership must be purchased to attend. Additional fees may apply for some events.  


 

MAY ACTIVITY: SUNNIDALE PARK AND ICE CREAM DOWNTOWN

Time: 6:30 - 8:30 

Where: Meet at Sunnidale Park (at the building) and then walk back downtown for some Ice Cream at the Centre. We will end the evening at the Centre, 45 Maple. Let's celebrate this beautiful spring weather!

Junior Spectrum Connection

Every Month until December 21, 2015

This new group is for teens 16-18 and will meet once a month for a social activity or outing.

Similar to The Spectrum Connection, which is a group of young adults with Asperger Syndrome/HFA, aged 18-28, , the Junior Spectrum Connection will be involved in activities in the Barrie are such as: bowling, supper out, beach outings, a pool party, mini-putt, go-carting, and board game nights.

Integrated Autism Consulting is available to support and facilitate but all individuals must be able to attend the event independently. 

Time: Tuesdays once a month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm

Cost: $20 per event

Join the group for some arts and crafts fun. Make drawings, paste magazine clippings or bring in some pictures to add to your Visual Achievement Collage. Gain some inspiration by being around some of your friends from the Social Club.

To create in the outdoors lends itself to magical moments, sights and sounds that stimulate our intuitive abilities and provides a wealth of inspiration for wonderful works of art. During our four weeks we will experiment with watercolour and acrylic paint, printmaking and sculptural materials to better understand form and the way light plays such an integral part with representing images but also learn how to play with the materials so that we can better express ourselves in the moment.

Mediums: watercolour, acrylic paint, printmaking and sculpting

Hosted by professional artist and sculptor Lisa Harpell.
